A few tips on giving gifts to avoid offending the receiver.
1. Know the company orientation Does the company have a policy on corporate gift giving? What is the policy? Where would it be charged? What are the budgets for these gift items?
2. Know your peers Are there others in your company sending gifts to customers in your list? If so, consider combining your budget to give the client a better gift rather than two separate gifts.
3. Know your client's company Do they have a limit on how many gifts their employees can accept? Some companies specify a certain dollar amount they can receive and while some doesnt allow their employees to receive gifts at all. You don't want to put them on an awkward position of having to decline a gift from you because it against their company policy.
4. Know your client This is the most important item. Find out what his hobbies and other activities outside the office so he can fully appreciate and use you give. The more he use it the more she will remember you.
